We are committed to building a more inclusive society, with a focus on education, health and livelihoods. Through our actions we aim to address social needs and deliver lasting positive impacts on our communities.
We recognise that quality education is the cornerstone of personal empowerment and community development. Jardines cultivates future leaders through scholarships and programmes that provide equitable access to diverse educational opportunities and professional networks.
We are deeply committed to the physical and mental wellbeing of our colleagues and the wider community. This commitment underpins our community investment approach and drives our efforts to foster healthier societies and stronger local economies.
We leverage our reach and work with our community partners to provide skills training and job opportunities for less privileged and marginalised individuals, boosting their long-term employability and earning power.
Community initiatives across Jardines
Disaster alleviation and support
In the markets Jardines invests, we demonstrated a coordinated and rapid disaster‑response capability to support communities impacted, combining financial support, resources alleviation and local partnerships. Following the March 2025 earthquake in Myanmar, JSG across Cambodia, Hong Kong and Myanmar mobilised to support affected colleagues and channelled aid to the Myanmar Red Cross Society to enable recovery and resilience‑building. In Hong Kong, Jardines committed US$3.83 million to the Government’s Support Fund following the Tai Po fire, alongside over US$638,000 in in‑kind donations and services. In Indonesia, United Tractors deployed heavy equipment and essential supplies to restore access and support communities affected by the December 2025 disasters in Sumatra and Aceh.
Building a serving and inclusive culture
By strengthening multicultural inclusion in the communities where we operate, our portfolio companies help foster social cohesion and equitable access to support and opportunities. Hongkong Land partnered with Caritas Hong Kong to launch “HUB 13” in To Kwa Wan – Hong Kong's first community hub dedicated to multicultural inclusion, healthy living and mutual aid. A dedicated halal kitchen has been designed to serve the local Muslim community and ethnic minorities in the "13 Streets" area.
Additionally, a cultural experience and volunteering event has been organised with WEDO GLOBAL at the Wan Chai Sikh Temple for portfolio companies, which featured immersive activities like headscarf trials, prayer hall visits and kitchen volunteering. Participants gained a deeper understanding of Sikh culture and inspired to explore and arrange inclusive community engagement activities at their own company.
Jardines Noonday Gun
Deeply rooted in Hong Kong, Jardines is committed to preserve cultural heritage while fostering sustainable growth of our city. The iconic Jardines Noonday Gun, fired daily at noon over Victoria Harbour since the 1840s, originally saluted the arrival or departure of Jardines' Taipan. Today, this living tradition raises funds for Hong Kong’s charities. To date, over US$791,000 has been raised to support the underprivileged, while keeping local heritage vibrant and promoting community engagement.
