Decarbonising Jardines

We have formulated a decarbonisation strategy to guide and align decarbonisation efforts across the Group. To account for the size and complexity of Jardines’ portfolio, our companies are segmented into two pathways – Decarbonisation Pathway and Transition Pathway – with a view to achieving credible interim targets and ultimately net-zero by 2050.

Initiatives across the Group

Leveraging advanced systems and data analytics, Hongkong Land, DFI and Gammon have optimised energy use, enhanced operational performance, and made informed decisions to drive energy efficiency and cost savings.

Delivering data-driven insights for sustainable and efficient assets is the core of JEC’s JEDI. In 2024, JEDI helped Hongkong Land reduce the central portfolio’s energy consumption by 1,400 MWh.

Wellcome and IKEA Taiwan are the first to deploy electric trucks to provide inventory replenishment and home delivery services in their respective markets. The electric trucks are expected to reduce carbon emission by 18% every year. JRG plans to double the share of electric bikes in its delivery fleet in key operating markets. IKEA and JRG have set up charging stations in Taiwan to promote the development of green logistics in the market.

Initiatives across the Group

Hongkong Land, Mandarin Oriental, Pizza Hut Vietnam actively collaborate along their value chains to drive behavioural change towards sustainable buildings. Meanwhile, Hongkong Land and Gammon work together with industry peers to identify collaborative opportunities and solutions to reduce embodied carbon, thus advancing low-carbon construction in Hong Kong.
